The following are national coalitions which can help guide you to available resources that are best for you and your family such as shelter, access to case workers and safety planning. Due to COVID-19, several states have created pop up shelters to meet increased demand and help families living with an abuser find a safe place to stay. If you are seeking emergency help, please call 911. If you or someone you know is being impacted by domestic violence, see if your state has a statewide coalition (see “Explore by State” above) that can help you access local resources.
If you’re thinking about leaving home, or you have and are seeking information and help, the Safeline is one of the top resources for runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth and their families. Call 1-800-786-2929 or visit their website to chat or email with someone who can help.
For anyone affected by abuse and needing support, call 1-800-799-7233 or 1-800-787-3224 (TTY). If you are unable to speak safely, you can log onto thehotline.org or text LOVEIS to 22522 available 24/7.
